Other Ministry Opportunities at Concord Baptist Church
In 2007, The Concord Baptist Church of Christ will celebrate its 160th anniversary.  With such a long history of work in faith, the church has had ample opportunity to create a wide range of ministries that serve the church community, Bedford-Stuyvesant and the world-at-large.  Too numerous to name, it is important to know that there is a ministry here for any and everybody!  If you want to work with youth, media, evangelism, foreign mission, the homeless, older adults or if you’d just like to say hello to people who enter the church – don’t worry, it’s here.  We welcome your willing spirit of friendship and support in all of our ministries!

Featured below are just a few of our active ministries:
The New Lifestyle Fellowship is a support group that explores the experiences and opportunities for older adults who are entering the new lifestyle of retirement.  The fellowship provides activities for members of the congregation and the community.  In fact, the New Lifestyle Fellowship just returned from a European cruise in September! They also provide support for Concord’s others ministries.

The World Wide Guild is responsible for the care and upkeep of the church’s nursery during Sunday worship.  They also aid patients at Brooklyn’s Kingsboro Psychiatric Hospital by preparing and serving dinner and engaging the patients in a quiet but spiritually service each month.

The Prison Ministry Team works closely with the Prison Fellowship Ministries of the Greater New York Area to provide friendship and company to those incarcerated in New York area prisons.  They conduct in-prison seminars and bible studies and participate in the Angel Tree Program which provide assistance to the children of incarcerated individuals.

Telephone Reassurance Services makes daily phone calls to cheer and console the sick and shut-in members of the church and community.  Their phone calls help to reassure the infirmed that there is a community of friends praying for them and trusting God for their comfort.
